"Manades" - Bull herds

Immerse yourself in the world of the manadiers and gardians, with their horses and bulls, and their traditions...

Visit a manade: discover a passion, a history, a craft...

An unmissable experience to discover the bullfighting traditions and the passion for the Camargue bull!

Manades are estates where Camargue bulls and horses are reared in semi-freedom. The bulls are selected to take part in Camargue bull races, votive festivals and bull games.

Aboard a horse-drawn trailer, the manadiers welcome you, share their daily lives and their passion for their craft with you, and then introduce you to the work of the gardians during a guided tour. Visitors can also watch a bull sorting on horseback or a ferrade (the branding of young bulls).

Summer evening immersion

During the summer (July–August), some manades offer the chance to discover their world and traditions over the course of an evening with a timeless programme: an evening immersion amongst the bulls, a traditional Camargue meal around a campfire, traditional music… An absolute must-experience!
