The Garrigue, a mosaic of landscapes
The Garrigue is an environment rich of its heritage, and fauna and flora diversity. It offers multiple and different atmosphere, where the driest expanses are next to the plains, where the hills are nested at some places in the plains, where the plains are inserted into the Plateaus.
The Garrigues in the Gard are organized in four limestone massifs, separated from one another by the deep cuts which forms the rivers that cross them, coming from the Cévennes, going down towards the Rhône and the Mediterranean Sea: Ardèche, Cèze, Vidourle and Hérault.
