Verre de vin à table terroir

Wines

Located at the northeastern end of the Languedoc AOC, the Sommières terroir is the only part of the appellation entirely within the Gard department. This denomination essentially concerns red wines and corresponds to a selection of qualified plots.

WINE GROWING

What's special about Languedoc Sommières wines ?

AOC Languedoc Sommières red wines have a beautiful purple to dark garnet color. Their nose is complex. Dominant aromas of red fruits (cherry, strawberry, blackberry, plum, etc.) are often combined with notes of garrigue, spices, licorice and vanilla. On the palate, these wines are concentrated, with well-coated tannins. They are full-bodied and round. Rosé wines have floral and red berry notes. White wines are fruity, with notes of acacia flowers and a round mouthfeel.

The Pays de Sommières also boasts other quality and origin labels : AOC Languedoc and IGP Pays d'Oc.

CARTAGÈNE, THE WINEGROWER'S APERITIF !

Cartagène was originally the winegrower's aperitif. This fruity-tasting drink is made using traditional methods, from fresh grape juice. It has all the flavors and aromas of ripe grapes whose fermentation has been stopped by adding pomace. Delicious as an aperitif, with foie gras or Roquefort cheese, Cartagène traditionally accompanies the thirteen Christmas desserts.
