Sommières and its History - SSH
The town’s history is the subject of ongoing research by local historians, who are members of the association ‘Sommières et Son Histoire’ (SSH). Founded in 1984, the association has been carrying out extensive historical research into Sommières and its surroundings for the past 40 years. This involves, in particular, drawing on the town’s extensive archives and documents relating to the heritage of Sommières and its canton. Every year, the association publishes a journal featuring articles by its researchers; the collection now comprises 33 issues.
