SIGHTSEEING
The 16th-century château with its four rounds.
-The Bois de Paris, a haven for forest flora and fauna.
-The hot springs near the bridge.
-The Romanesque bridge over the Quiquilhan stream, on a sheep migration route to the Cévennes.
-The village well, dating from the early 20th century.
-The old lime kiln, which transformed limestone into lime for use in construction, near the D35.
GOOD TO KNOW:
On winter days, you may be lucky enough to see the hot spring flowing. Located on the Coutach fault, it only flows during periods of heavy rainfall at a temperature of 17.6°C. The network of cracks and crevices that criss-cross the Bois de Paris limestone massif allows the water to infiltrate and heat up as it sinks. Once it reaches the fault, it rises to the surface at a relatively tepid temperature.
