Rando La Rascasse
Nice walk around the village near the Aube stream.
Itinerary :
Depart from Aujargues, at the Mairie.
Follow signs for Aujargues then Le Château. From this crossroads, follow signs for Bois de Clapisse, then Mas Baudran.
Finally, follow Hauts de Catet then Font de l'Aube. From here, follow Aujargues back to the village.
SIGHTSEEING
- The old bridge built by the parish priest to get from his presbytery to his garden after the road was trenched under Napoleon III.
- The 19th-century covered wash-house with its three basins
sheltered from the wind.
- A calade on the chemin des jardins, a cobbled path made of pebbles of varying sizes.
- La Rascasse.
GOOD TO KNOW:
La Rascasse is a small reservoir on the Font Gaillarde stream. It is made up of several elements: a stone slab dam; two basins on the banks of the stream serving as a washhouse, drinking trough and fountain; a calade in the stream bed to facilitate cart access to the basins; a ford made of large flat stones.
