TO KNOW :
The Mediterranean climate, strong sunshine, winds and variable rainfall combine with different soil types to produce the wines of the
Gard wines. Developed by the Romans, vine-growing has adapted to a wide variety of soils: marly or alluvial soils on the plains, acidic soils on certain slopes
or stony soils of the limestone plateaus. Fontanès, sheltered from the prevailing winds, enjoys an ideal exposure for vine-growing.
