WORTH KNOWING:
The Puech du Montagnon is a typical garrigue landscape. It's made up of a succession of hills and valleys through which temporary streams flow. In the past, the garrigue was heavily exploited: grazing for herds, wood supply for glassworks, charcoal production, lime kilns, wild plant gathering, clearing for vineyards and olive groves... Many traces of this can still be seen: low walls, clapas, capitelles and open spaces.
